🧭 Overview

EWS provides 10% reservation in admissions and government jobs for families not covered under SC/ST/OBC and with limited income & assets.

✅ Eligibility

👪 Income

Annual family income < ₹8,00,000.

🏠 House Size

Residential unit ≤ 1000 sq.ft.

📏 Residential Plot

≤ 100 sq. yards (municipal); ≤ 200 sq. yards (non-municipal).

🌾 Agricultural Land

Holdings generally within small limits (state-specific).

📊 Income & Asset Criteria

  • Family income includes salary, business, agriculture & other sources.
  • Assets of parents, spouse, minor children are counted.

🧑‍⚖️ Who issues it?

Tahsildar / MRO or other notified revenue authority in your district.

🚫 Exclusions

SC/ST/OBC categories are not eligible under EWS.

🧾 Documents Required

  • Duly filled EWS application form.
  • Income Certificate / Salary slips / IT returns.
  • Aadhaar & Address proof.
  • Property / land details (if applicable).
  • Passport photos & self-declaration (as per state format).

  1. Collect required documents.
  2. Fill EWS form (online/office).
  3. Submit at Tahsildar/MRO office or portal.
  4. Verification by revenue staff.
  5. Collect certificate or download from portal.

Is EWS valid forever? Toggle

Many states issue it with a validity (e.g., 1 year). Always check your certificate for validity dates.

Can I hold EWS and another reservation? Toggle

No. If you are SC/ST/OBC, you cannot avail EWS.
